Introduction

In my 60 years on this planet, I have learned that starting the day off correctly leads to the best results.

A combination of getting your body and mind right gives you the best chance of short — and long-term success.

So, if you are like me and want to control your day, there are six things you can do to make it your own rather than let it control you.

#1: Drink Water when you first wake up

Drinking Water

Having a drink of water right as you wake up is the first step toward getting your body right.

As you sleep, you lose fluid throughout the night. Every time you exhale, you lose a small amount of water. Even if you don’t notice it, you sweat throughout the night. This causes you to wake up feeling dehydrated.

When you drink that cup of water, you rehydrate, increase your metabolism, and your brain will have improved concentration and mental clarity.

#2: Morning Stretches

Morning Stretch

When you sleep, your body becomes stiffer due to tightening the muscles and joints.

Morning stretches increase your blood flow, warm your muscles, and lubricate your joints.

Morning Stretches not only alleviate the stiffness but also prepare your body for the day’s activities, enhancing your overall flexibility and reducing the risk of injuries.

#3: Do Cardio to Work Up A Sweat.

Morning Cardio

Starting your day with a cardio workout where you sweat has several benefits, making it a must-do activity.

When you start your morning with cardio, you increase your metabolism. You also release endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevator, which puts you in a better mood. It also increases your blood flow and oxygen level.

A morning cardio session sets a positive tone for the day and contributes to physical and Mental Well-Being.

#4: Meditate

Morning Meditiation

After you’ve spent the first part of the morning getting your body right, it’s time to work on your mind.

Meditating in the morning can help set a calm tone for the day, reduce anxiety, enhance focus, and Improve mental health.

By incorporating meditation into your morning routine, you’ll reap these benefits throughout the day and contribute to your long-term health.

#5: Practice Gratitude

Morning Gratitude

Along with meditation, Practicing gratitude helps shift your mindset into a positive state.

You’ll benefit tremendously by writing down at least one thing you are grateful for every day. You’ll shift your mindset to a positive state. You’ll improve your mood, and you’ll help reduce depression and anxiety.

Focusing on what you are grateful for will enhance your mental health and improve your quality of life.

#6: Set daily intentions the night before

Setting Intentions for the day

Hitting the day and knowing your goals is a sure way to control your day.

Spend 30 minutes at the end of every day reviewing what you accomplished and setting your priorities for the next day. Make sure to have goals for the next day, considering any upcoming meetings or deadlines. Set one big goal that you know if you do it, all other things will become easier, and some might not be needed.

By writing these down, you are ready to go and control your day when you get to your desk.
